As the Electrical Lead for our SAE Baja team, I faced a significant leadership challenge when procurement delays at the university left our five-person, multidisciplinary team at a standstill. Instead of losing momentum while waiting for physical hardware, I guided the team to leverage AI for our research and development, using it as a bridge to collaborate and iterate across our EE, CE, and CS backgrounds. This pivot was a practical application of Agency & Adaptability—shifting our focus from what we lacked physically to what we could build digitally. Ultimately, this experience proved that AI is more than just a technical utility; it is a strategic leadership tool that can bypass bureaucratic bottlenecks and keep a team driving forward.
